Agam's Pov
"Hello, boys" came the greeting, drawing our attention.
I turned around and saw Anisha Chowdhury
"Hello, Anisha" Akshit greeted her with a polite nod, acknowledging her presence.
Anisha Chowdhury, one of the models Aashna had rejected during the selection process, stood before us. It was unexpected to see her here, considering she hadn't cut for the show.
"How come such handsome men are here alone without a drink? Let me buy one for you" she said
Anisha's attempt to flirt was evident in her words as she addressed us. I exchanged a glance with Akshit, both of us amused by her forwardness despite being aware of the fact that we both are married
"Thankyou! But we are good for now" Akshit replied with a polite smile, declining Anisha's offer, and I nodded in agreement.
"Oh, come on, it's just a drink," Anisha insisted, laughing as she playfully nudged Akshit's shoulder.
I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her hats off to Akshit's patience in handling the situation, especially as Anisha continued to push.
"Well, my wife is pregnant, so I've decided not to drink until she's able to too," Akshit explained, taking a step back
"It's not like she's here right now," Anisha persisted, unbothered by Akshit's explanation.
Sensing the need to excuse ourselves from the situation, I glanced at my phone and subtly signalled to Akshit that we needed to leave.
"It was nice meeting you, but we have to take this call. Feel free to get yourself a drink," Akshit said politely as we made our way from the spot, leaving Anisha behind.
Sarah's Pov
As we settled into our seats, it was evident that the fashion show still had some time before starting.
"Let's grab something to eat, I'm hungry," Kavya suggested, rising from her seat.
"Okay, let's go," I replied, following her lead.
As I made my way through the rows of seats, I accidentally stumbled into a person. She was truly stunning, wearing a bold outfit that caught my eye.
"Sorry, I'm in a hurry," I apologized quickly, noticing that Kavya was already a little further ahead.
"Jaldi Sarah," kavya called out and without further ado I hurriedly left the area to catch up with her
As we reached the lounge area, we spotted Akshit and Agam engaged in conversation with a girl.
"Who's that?" I asked Kavya, gesturing towards the girl who seemed to be getting too touchy with Akshit.
"Oh, that bitch!" Kavya exclaimed, her tone dripping with disdain. "She's Anisha Chowdry, a model. Aashna informed me about her. She's such a pick-me. The main reason she wasn't selected was because of the various rumours about her, and she was being a little too comfortable with Akshit and Abhigyan."
"Needs to be put in her place," I remarked.
As we moved closer, we witnessed Anisha nudging Akshit's shoulder, causing him to step back. We were almost there when we overheard her saying, "It's not like she is here."
"Did you hear that?" Kavya asked me.
"Yup, loud and clear," I replied.
We saw Akshit and Agam making their way out of the area, pretending to have a call with each other.
Reaching the bar counter, we stood next to Anisha. The bartender approached her and asked, "What would you like to have, ma'am?"
Before she could reply, Kavya interjected, "Oh, she'll have a gallon of self-respect."
Anisha turned her head towards us, clearly offended. "Excuse me?" she retorted.
"Oh, you should really excuse yourself out of the event, you whore," Kavya fired back.
"Bitch, what the hell?" Anisha said, visibly angered as she attempted to push Kavya.
I swiftly intervened, gripping her wrist and bending it under the counter, out of sight.
With a tight smile, I warned her, "Don't even think about touching her with your filthy hands."
Anisha scoffed. "Oh, really? What are you going to do?"
"I am gonna kill you and then fight your case, giving anyone not a single clue about what happened to you. Get this straight in your head" I threatened, releasing her hand with a jerk.
"I don't know who let you crazy bitches inside. Who do you think you are?" Anisha retorted.
"We are lawyers, honey" Kavya chimed in. "On top of that pregnant ones," I added
"Don't push our buttons. You won't like the consequences. Now leave, or else I'll have to call security," Kavya warned loudly, attracting the attention of people nearby.
Before Anisha could respond, security arrived.
"Is everything okay, Mrs. Roy?" they inquired, addressing Kavya.
"Yes, everything's fine. She was just leaving," Kavya replied, and the security escorted Anisha away.
"We were a bit harsh with her, weren't we?" I remarked.
"Is that so?" Kavya chuckled. We then ordered virgin sangria and snacks, proceeding to enjoy them.
After a few minutes, we heard Raghu walking towards us. "I heard you guys made Anisha leave," he remarked.
"Oh, that was necessary" Kavya replied casually as she took the last bite of her bruschetta.
"Do you know her?" I asked him.
"I know everyone, bhabhi" he replied, picking up a pretzel from the plate.
"Who's that with Kay?" Kavya pointed towards Kyle, who was talking to a woman wearing an ivory silk dress with pearl straps.
"I don't know" Raghu admitted.
"But a few seconds ago, someone said they know everyone" I teased him, and he shook his head in response.
Kyle noticed us staring at her, and she hugged the woman goodbye before approaching us.
"What were you guys talking about?" she asked.
"Who was that girl you were talking to?" Kavya inquired.
"Oh, her. That's Amani. She's the owner of Belle Couture cosmetics, the brand that's the Beauty partner for today's show" Kyle explained.
"How do you even know her?" I asked, munching on my pretzel.
"I know everyone, doll" Kyle replied, pouring herself a drink.
"Yeah sure" Raghu muttered under his breath.
"What did I tell you about unwanted opinions, Bhatt?" Kyle shot back.
"Raghu said a few seconds ago that he knows everyone here, but he couldn't tell who Amani was when Kavya asked" I interjected, laughing.
Raghu tried to defend himself, "That was just one person, Sarah yaar! I know the rest of them."
"Oh, you wanna bet?" Kyle challenged him, raising her eyebrow with a smirk.
"Be ready to lose" Raghu replied
"Okay, okay! Who's that?" I said, pointing towards a guy wearing a navy blue tux.
"Umm-" Kyle began, but Raghu cut her off.
"That's Garv Singh Chauhan. He's a famous singer and Aashna's special guest," Raghu answered, smirking at Kay.
"Well, that was beginner's luck," Kay remarked, rolling her eyes at him.
"Okay, next! Who are all those people?" Kavya asked, pointing towards a few men standing at a distance from us. Kyle and Raghu started naming them and their businesses one by one.
They had almost named everyone present in the lounge, and Raghu was a point ahead of Kyle.
I noticed Amani talking to a guy, more like avoiding him, as he followed her with annoyed expressions all over his face. No matter how annoyed his expressions were, it was evident that the guy was totally whipped.
"Okay, guys! Who's that?" I asked, pointing at him, and Kyle immediately replied
"That's Zeeshan Roy Kapoor. He is the CEO of ZRK Constructions, the company that has Abhigyan's new restaurant's contract," Kyle explained.
"Also Amani's husband," Raghu added.
"Yeah, I thought so," I said, nodding my head.
"Now, that's a tie," Kavya said, clapping her hands in excitement.
"We can do one more round," Raghu suggested.
"Yeah, I surely don't wanna share a place with him," Kyle snapped at him.
"We'll do that outside. Let's go to our seats for now," I said, and we all left the lounge.
As we were walking towards our seats, I noticed a few more unfamiliar faces.
"Who's that?" I said, pointing towards an old man standing with a beautiful woman in a red dress.
"That's Mr. Patel and his 4th wife, Soniya," Raghu said and did a little victory dance.
"Wrong answer. That's his 5th wife, Meera. Sonia and Mr. Patel got divorced last month, and she shifted with her kids to Los Angeles," Kyle said with a tight-lipped smile as she stopped Raghu's hand.
"And now it's again a tie," I said, and as soon as I said that, I felt a hand on my waist and turned around.
Agam was standing in front of me as I clashed with his rock-hard chest.
"Where were you? I was looking for you everywhere, and you're not even picking up your calls," he said, slowly leaning towards me as he placed a small peck on my shoulder.
"Ughh! Get a room, you two," Kyle said, rolling her eyes at us.
"Shall we?" Raghu asked, leaning towards her.
"Back off, old man," she said and left the place.
"She has a thing for older guys," Raghu said and went after her, making all of us laugh.
"Let's go to our seats," Kavya said, sensing that the show was about to start in the next few minutes.
We reached our seats, each with our name tags on them, and settled in as the show began.
One by one, every model walked down the runway in extremely beautiful lehengas. I even spotted Inaya Moretti wearing a stunning red embroidered lehenga. I was impressed by Aashna's choice of models, especially since Inaya is one of the most famous models around the globe.
I felt proud of Aashna and all that she has achieved at such a young age. Having her big label is truly extraordinary. Her designs are fresh and unique, with color patterns that suit almost everyone.
During the show, I noticed Kyle switching her seat to sit beside a woman who seemed to be around her age. They were deep in conversation, and I couldn't help but wonder what Kyle was up to.
As the time for the showstopper approached, I recognized her as Aria Oberoi, a social media influencer and model whose pictures I've seen all over the internet. Aashna and Aria walked the runway together, and as they reached the end, fireworks erupted from the backdrop. The audience stood up and applauded them enthusiastically.
Suddenly, chaos filled the atmosphere as the backdrop caught fire from the fireworks. Agam immediately secured me, and I looked around anxiously. Security arrived within seconds, but the once lively atmosphere was now filled with smoke.
"Aashna and Aria are still on the stage!" someone shouted, and Agam handed Yug to me, urging us to leave the place.
As we made our way out, Agam and I both saw Abhigyan rushing towards the stage, disappearing into the clouds of smoke.
"Sarah, go! It's not safe for you, Yug, and Kavya," Agam insisted.
I nodded, and we quickly left the area. The whole venue was evacuated, and thankfully, no casualties were reported.
Agam and Akshit emerged from the building, followed by Abhigyan, who was carrying Aashna, unconscious in his arms.
"Is she okay?" Kavya asked, concern evident in her voice.
"Yes, she's fine. We're taking her to the hospital. You all go home," Agam replied firmly, his focus solely on getting Aashna the medical attention she needed.
Abhigyan immediately took Aashna to the ambulance parked nearby and we followed them
"Where's Aria, ma'am? We can't find her!" someone shouted, causing panic to ripple through the group.
"When I reached the stage, I saw one of the security personnel taking her out, but it was too smoky for me to see his face properly," Abhigyan explained.
"That surely wasn't a security person," Kyle interjected, joining the conversation.
"Where were you?" I asked Kyle, curious about her whereabouts.
"I was inside investigating the cause of the fire. It wasn't an accident; it was a set-up," she revealed, shocking us all.
"That's impossible! I oversaw everything myself," Abhigyan protested.
"Yeah, but evidently, that wasn't enough. Someone really smart is out there," Kyle stated matter-of-factly as we heard Aashna stirring.
"Aashu, are you okay?" Agam asked concern etched on his face as she sat up. Abhigyan glanced at her and then headed towards his car.
"Hanji, bhaiya," Aashna replied, her voice slightly shaky.
"Is Aria okay?" she asked, her worry evident.
We exchanged looks before I responded, "We can't find her."
"WHAT!?" Aashna exclaimed in shock, her eyes widening.
"Where's my phone? Where's Ritika?" Aashna frantically started asking. Ritika Singh Rajput, one of the interns working closely with Aashna for the event, stepped forward.
"Here," Ritika said, handing Aashna her phone.
Aashna quickly unlocked it and read a text from Aria stating that she was fine and had left the place for security reasons.
"She's fine," Aashna confirmed, relief evident in her voice.
"Do you want to go to the hospital?" Agam asked, concern lacing his words.
"No, bhai, I'm fine. I just want to go home," Aashna replied, her voice steadier now.
We all settled into our cars and left the venue, the exit gates crowded with paparazzi eager to know what exactly had happened.
